A 1/28/14 article from abc2news.com detailed the January 20th PA pit bull attack that left 3 people injured. Just a few days earlier, a woman from East Hopewell Township had adopted a pit bull from the BARCS shelter in Baltimore, MD. An article from The York Dispatch quotes a Pennsylvania State Trooper who stated that the animal shelter claimed: “three veterinarians recommended him (the pit bull) for adoption.”
The pit bull allegedly broke free from its owner and attacked 2 brothers, ages 10 & 11, while they were playing basketball on their own driveway. Their mother ran to their aid and she was also attacked by this vicious pit bull. All 3 PA dog bite victims received medical care at a local hospital. The pit bull has been euthanized and rabies testing results should be forthcoming shortly.
