Number 20 for Attorney Newell!

Posted on: March 22nd, 2014  padog

On March 18, 2014, Attorney Thomas J. Newell was hired by a Mount Wolf, PA family to file a dog bite lawsuit in Lycoming County, PA. Their 4 year old son was bitten in May of 2012 by a chow/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mix. The child sustained facial dog bite wounds which required approximately 40 stitches to close.

With this new dog bite case, Attorney Newell has now represented dog attack victims in 20 different Pennsylvania Counties. The victim’s family had initially hired a local York County, PA law firm. Once it became apparent that a Lycoming Co. dog bite lawsuit needed to be filed, the local lawyer suggested that the case be referred to Attorney Newell to take advantage of his expertise in this area of the law.

Northumberland County Dog Attack Victim Referred to Attorney Newell

Posted on: March 11th, 2014  padog

On March 7, 2014, Attorney Newell received a telephone call from a York, PA attorney. A 4 year-old boy had been a patron with his parents at Knoebel’s Park in Northumberland County, PA when he was mauled by a dog. The little boy has permanent scars left from the May 2012 dog attack.

The PA dog bite attorney immediately telephoned the victim’s father to review the facts of the attack. If Attorney Newell accepts the case, he intends to file a lawsuit in the County where the dog owner resides – Lycoming. Thomas J. Newell, Esq. recently settled a case for the liability policy limit of $100,000.00 with the same defense adjuster who is handling this case.

One Pit Bull Owner’s Definition of “Personal Accountability”

Posted on: March 3rd, 2014  padog

A Feb. 25, 2014 article from described a horrific ordeal that took place on 2/3/14. A North Carolina Dept. of Health & Environmental Control employee went to the Dillon County home of Mitchell Driggers to investigate a past dog attack. When the investigator arrived, he was severely mauled and still remains in serious condition at a local hospital more than 3 weeks after this unprovoked dog bite attack!

There are 2 “versions” of the facts.  You be the judge as to which is more trustworthy. The pit bull mauling victim was able to call 911 for help and told the operator that 2 pit bulls were attacking him. Police officers who arrived at the defendant’s home reported that 2 pit bulls were attacking. They shot and killed both pit bulls in order to stop the attack.

The pit bulls owner’s version is quite different. He told WPDE News Channel 15 that he only owned 1 of those pit bulls and … surprise, surprise … he insisted that it had no involvement with the attack upon the victim. As to the “real” attacking pit bull, he claimed that he didn’t own it, but that it “was just always around his property.” IMO, that’s as honest on the truth meter as “you will be able to keep your own health insurance plan.”
