Posted on: June 27th, 2013  padog

On June 20, 2013, PA Dog Warden Kathy Andrews informed Attorney Thomas J. Newell that she had filed PA Dog Law charges versus a Bartonsville PA resident.  On 6/12/13, the negligent defendant did not keep her 2 Akitas under control and they mauled a neighbor and her leashed Golden Retriever.

GOLDEN RETRIEVER #2PA Dog Law  citations of harboring dangerous dogs and failure to confine were filed with the local District Justice.  Attorney Newell has provided the PA Dog Warden with photos of the dog bite wounds to her left arm.  Physicians at Pocono Medical Center used 6 stitches to close the wounds and gave her a tetanus shot.

Posted on: June 19th, 2013  padog

On June 18, 2013, Attorney Thomas J. Newell was hired by a Monroe County dog bite victim.  The woman was walking her golden retriever on a leash by a public lake.  The elderly defendant was walking 2 adult Akitas when they broke free from her and began an unprovoked attack on the innocent victim.

AKITA #2She threw up her left arm to protect her face.  The Akitas bit her arm and knocked her down.  As she was kicking at the Akita dogs to save herself, the negligent defendant stood by and watched.  Fortunately, 2 men from the neighborhood came running over and stopped the assault.  Pennsylvania Dog Warden, Kathy Andrews, is investigating the attack.
