An Oct. 14, 2013 article on pittsburgh.cbslocal.com reported on a brutal pit bull attack in Armstrong County that resulted in the hospitalization of a 2 year-old girl. The family lives along Route 422 in Elderton PA. The toddler allegedly climbed onto the pit bull’s back to try to get up and over a child gate. The pit bull bit her left arm and wouldn’t let go.
The girl’s father had to pry open the pit bull’s mouth to rescue his daughter. She was flown to Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh. The Armstrong County dog attack victim appears to need extensive surgery to repair her left arm. Back at home, her parents had the pit bull euthanized.
