On 11/12/15, the Northampton County dog attack attorney attended a District Justice Hearing in Bethlehem Township PA. The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania was prosecuting negligent Easton PA dog owners pursuant to the PA Dog Law.
On July 14, 2015, their golden retriever had attacked an Easton resident as she was walking her dog on a sidewalk. The PA Dog Warden for Northampton County, Kathy Andrews, headed up the investigation. The lawyer for dog bites in Northampton County PA supplied the PA Dog Warden with a legal case decision regarding strict liability on the part of dog owners to confine their dogs.
The defendants were found guilty of failing to confine their dog and failing to have it properly vaccinated for rabies. Attorney Thomas J. Newell believes that this conviction and the accompanying fines will cause the negligent Easton dog owners to properly confine their dog in the future.
