On August 27, 2013, the York County SPCA put down a pit bull that had mauled to death a Shih Tzu in York PA.  According to The York Daily Record, the pit bull got loose and attacked the 4 pound dog as it was being walked by its owners at the intersection of East King Street and South Broad Street in York.  Area neighbors came running out to help and prevented an even greater tragedy.

On Aug. 6, 2013, Attorney Thomas J. On July 15, 2013, 2 Monroe County dog owners plead guilty to 4 counts of violating the PA Dog Law.  Two charges involved harboring a dangerous dog and 2 additional violations concerned failing to confine their vicious dogs.
