On November 5, 2013, as a result of the aggressive efforts of Thomas J. Newell, Esquire, the homeowners insurance company for a Gettysburg area couple agreed to pay its maximum insurance coverage of $300,000.00 to a little girl who lived next door. The 6 year old child had knocked on their front door and was told “It’s open, come on in.” As she opened the door, the defendants’ pit bull mauled the girl and bit off a portion of her nose.
